Geospatial Data Technician - Mt. Vernon, IL

Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Geospatial Data Technician to operate our Trimble X9 scanner for capturing precise 3D data of buildings, both inside and outside. You will take scans of every room, closet, hallway, and open space to collect 3D data, linking each scan to the next. This data will be used to create an accurate 3D model of the building once all scans are complete. 

Key Responsibilities
  • On-Site Data Collection: Travel to various locations to perform 3D laser scanning of building exteriors and interiors using the Trimble X9 scanner.
  • Equipment Setup and Operation: Properly set up and operate the Trimble X9 scanner and other related equipment.
  • Data Processing: Ensure that scans/stations are registering together with minimal overlap.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with client faculty, 911 (if applicable), and other team members to ensure a smooth process of scanning within their available timeframe.
  • Client Interaction: Communicate with clients on-site to address any immediate questions or concerns and ensure their satisfaction with the scanning process.
Qualifications
  • Education: At least a High School Diploma.
  • Travel: Have a car and a valid driver’s license.
  • Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail with a focus on being meticulous.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues that may arise during scanning operations.
  • Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with clients and team members.
  • Physical Fitness: Ability to carry and set up scanning equipment, as well as work on your feet for most of the day.
  • Background Check: Ability to pass a basic background check.

SketchUp 3D Modeler - Mt. Vernon, IL

Job Description

As a SketchUp 3D Modeler, you will be responsible for creating accurate and visually compelling 3D models of buildings and architectural structures. You will collaborate closely with geospatial data technicians to work with Point Cloud data obtained from 3D laser scanning, transforming this raw data into detailed 3D models.

Key Responsibilities
  • 3D Modeling: Create detailed 3D models of buildings, interiors, and exteriors using SketchUp, based on Point Cloud data captured by 3D scanners.
  • Rendering and Visualization: Produce high-quality renderings and visualizations of 3D models, ensuring they are accurate and meet project specifications.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with geospatial data technicians to understand project requirements and building layout.
  • Optimization: Optimize 3D models for performance, ensuring that they are efficient and can be used across various platforms and presentations.
  • Quality Control: Ensure all 3D models are created with attention to detail and accuracy, adhering to company standards and client expectations.
  • Model Detailing: Identify and apply appropriate model details such as labels, color codes, and points of interest.
